pic MINISTRIES & PROGRAMS

SMALL GROUPS: We encourage everyone to participate in the small group that is best suited to their interests and needs. Small groups provide an excellent way to break down the "large crowd" that comes to the Sunday morning services into smaller gatherings of people. We offer a wide variety of small groups for adults based on interests and needs. Our small groups are designed to be a place to make new friends and build a spiritual support network in which we can learn to minister to others as well as receive ministry from others, deepen current relationships and provides a comfortable setting in which to study God's Word and apply it to our lives. If you want to check out a small group please call or email us.
THRU-THE-BIBLE: Wednesdays at 6:00 pm is a time for fellowship and learning as we travel through the Bible from Genesis to Revelations, a few chapters each week. There is a Question and Answer time as well as an in-depth discussion of each chapter--an invaluable combination. Dinner is served beforehand at a cost of $4 per person. Come at 6:00 pm and eat with us or just join us for the study portion only at 6:30 pm. For more information, please call or email us.
YOUTH PROGRAMS: At Grove Park Chapel, we believe that the youth group should be a vital and active part of the church. We aim to reach students with the truth of God’s Word and teach them how to live out their faith in everyday life. While we certainly understand that the spiritual instruction of a young person is mainly the duty of parents, we desire to come alongside parents in the process of teaching and guiding their son or daughter. Our youth ministry is focused on helping students grow to maturity in:

KNOWLEDGE: Coming to a deeper understanding of God and the Bible
                        - Proverbs 1:7, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Philippians 1:9-11
ACTION: Showing Christ to others through intentional acts of love and service
                        - Ephesians 2:10, James 2:17, 1 Peter 2:12
CHARACTER: Becoming more Christ-like every day
                        - 2 Corinthians 7:1, Ephesians 4:24, Philippians 2:5

We believe it is important for students to meet with each other regularly in order to build strong Christ-centered friendships and encourage one another in their faith (Heb. 3:13). We have weekly gatherings as well as special events planned throughout the year to give students regular opportunities to grow in their faith, strengthen a sense of community, and have fun in the process.

Youth Sunday School:
Sundays, 10:00 am      Weekly Youth Meeting: Wednesdays, 6:30 pm

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS: Grove Park Chapel offers a variety of programs during the week for children. On Sunday mornings, nursery is provided for ages 3 and under during all of our services. For children above 3, we offer both Sunday School classes starting at 10:00 am as well as Children's Church during our 11:00 am service. Both Sunday School and Children's Church provide a warm and nurturing program that is designed to create excitement in learning about our Christian faith. Children explore the Bible, beliefs and Christian ethics through hands-on activities, which includes music (such as our bell choir), craft activities, storytelling, drama, kinesthetic movement, geography and discussion. This is accomplished with the help of volunteers who believe that God calls us to pass the excitement and energy of our faith to the next generation.

On Wednesday nights, we provide childcare during our Thru-The-Bible Study as well. Children join us for dinner, then are dismissed for fun activities as adults begin discussion time on the current week's verses. In addition to Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, GPC offers Awana on Sunday nights as well as a half-day preschool program that is available Monday - Thursday for children in the appropriate age range. See below for further details on Awana and Preschool or contact the church office.

AWANA: The AWANA program helps parents raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ! We do this through:
Sundays from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, running from August until May each year. more »
PRESCHOOL: Our preschool program is designed to support and extend young children's learning through direct experiences. Children learn when actively engaged, so we provide a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. Specific activities are planned and encouraged to develop fine motor skills, gross motor skills, perceptual discrimination, cognitive development and social and emotional development. Jesus Christ is central to our faith and philosophy. Throughout the year we weave our curriculum around and talk about how God created the world and us, and that He loves us and sent Jesus to us. At this level we pray together, read Bible stories, and participate in a weekly chapel time. more »
WOMEN'S GROUPS: Who are we? A community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Our goal is to grow spiritually, educationally and intellectually; to be stimulated, to gain leadership experience, to meet other women and to be involved, accomplishing all of this by serving God, others and having fun and fellowship together. There are many ministry opportunities and social activities for a woman that is looking for something more, something real, a way to get involved. Just a few examples: The sunshine ministry (spreading a little sunshine to our shut-ins), women's bible studies (our latest was Beth Moore), ladies' night out (fellowship and fun), volleyball, themed social gatherings loaded with fun, a walking club and much, much more. Join Us!
MEN'S GROUPS: The purpose of our Men's Ministry is expressed in Colossians 1:28: "That we may present every man complete in Christ." As men, we play many important roles, which involve many relationships such as husbands, fathers, providers, spiritual leaders of our homes, co-workers, etc. These relationships can only fulfill their potential as we become more Christ-like in our attitudes and actions. To accomplish the purpose of being made "complete in Christ," we believe that it is necessary to provide opportunities for men to interact with one another, both on a social basis and also on a spiritual basis. In Proverbs 27:17 we are told, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Our Men's sunday school class's primary purpose is to help men grow in their relationship with God. A natural result of this is spiritually stronger men, husbands, fathers, families and churches. There are many ministry opportunities and activities for men at Grove Park Chapel. We regularly participate in Promise Keeper events, men's outings such as bass fishing tournaments, basketball nights, handyman ministries, Samaritan's Purse aid trips and much more. We'll see you there!
