Denise has been with the school since 2009 and is our Lead Teacher in the Busy Bees, two year old class. She worked in the customer service area of the banking industry for several years. She holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Iona College in New York. She chose to stay home with her children for 7 years before coming to GPCP. Her family is very involved in her home church.

Courtney has been with the school since 2005. She had a short hiatus as a nanny during 2009. She is the Assistant Teacher with the Busy Bees. She is currently taking classes to get her degree in early childhood education. Courtney attends Grove Park Chapel where she plays the piano on Sundays with the Praise Band and volunteers in Nursery and AWANA.

Our Three's class is taught by Mrs. Debbie and Mrs. Robin.

Debbie has been on our staff since 2006 and is the Lead Teacher in the Happy Hoppers, three year old class. She has worked at other preschools and early learning centers in the area and has many years of experience raising her own 3 wonderful children. Her missionary work includes traveling to South Africa and Kenya to work at a local orphanage. Debbie is currently working to get her Early Childhood teaching credentials at Durham Tech.

Robin has been on our staff since 2002 when she came on board as our two year old Assistant. She has taught in each age group over the years and also served as Assistant Director. Robin is currently the Assistant Teacher with our Happy Hoppers.

Our PreK classes are taught by Ms. Mamie/Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Chris/Mrs. Phyllis.

Mamie has been on our staff since 2004 and is the Lead Teacher in our Flying Cardinals, PreK class. She holds a B.S. degree from the School of Education at North Carolina A&T. She has a special interest in working with special needs children and acting as a Child Advocate with Durham Public Schools. Mamie joined the GPC Preschool staff in 2004 as the 2 yr old Teacher and started teaching the 4’s class in 2007. Mamie currently attends Grove Park Chapel.

Kim started at GPC Preschool in 2005 and is currently the Assistant Teacher with our Flying Cardinals. She holds an Associates degree in Early Childhood. Her experience also includes raising 2 sons, 3 grandsons and has 1 granddaughter on the way.

Chris has had three of her four children graduate our program and we are proud to announce her as our new Banana Bunch, PreK Lead Teacher. Chris has worked as a Kindergarten Teacher as well as Reading Teacher and Early Intervention Preschool Teacher. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education and worked in the education field for close to 10 years. Chris also attends Grove Park Chapel.

Phyllis has been on our staff since 2006 and is the Assistant Teacher with our Banana Bunch class. She is a volunteer in Grove Park Chapel's AWANA program and volunteers each year at VBS. She and her husband attend Grove Park Chapel and are always willing to give a helping hand.

Sandi has a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech and a M.S. in Criminal Justice from NCCU. She has worked as a Juvenile Counselor and as a Financial Analyst. Sandi currently sits as the Vice President on the PTF board at Bethesda Christian Academy. She has been involved with GPCP since 2004 when her kids starting attending the preschool. She is a member of Grove Park Chapel, volunteers in the church's Vacation Bible School and co-leads Children's Church.

Our substitutes.

It is our policy to use current staff members, previous staff members and parents as substitutes in our classes when the need arises. If you, as a parent, are interested in substituting please let our director know!

**All teachers and substitutes are required to submit to a background check yearly. Teachers are CPR and First-Aid certified.**
